Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Through Service
01/12/2024
On Monday, we will honor the life and mission of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The legacy Dr. King left on this world was so impactful that this is the only federal holiday also deemed a National Day of Service.
At xxxx色情片, we share many of Dr. King鈥檚 ideals. We believe in human rights for all people. Diversity, equity and inclusion are intrinsic to our company's culture. And service to our local communities is a vital part of our commitment to helping people live healthier lives. Through our work in Medicaid, Medicare and the Health Insurance Marketplace, we are advancing Dr. King鈥檚 dream of a more equitable and inclusive world by reducing the barriers that often prevent underserved and at-risk populations from accessing the care they need. From provider accessibility initiatives to innovative behavioral health strategies, our health plans develop tailored local programs to support their members through solutions that enhance health equity in our communities.
Each member we serve has unique circumstances that require individualized solutions to accessing the care they need and deserve. We believe our focus on building a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve enables us to better understand, relate to and deliver high-quality, culturally sensitive healthcare to our 28 million members across the country.
To this day, Dr. King鈥檚 dream challenges and inspires us to make strides toward eliminating healthcare disparities across the U.S., and to give back to the communities we serve at a local level. Beyond healthcare, xxxx色情片 partners with local organizations and nonprofits to further address the challenges our members face and to pave the way to healthier communities across the nation.
During the month of January, our Washington health plan, Coordinated Care, is living out our mission to transform the communities we serve, one person at a time, through several volunteer events. A group of 20 Coordinated Care team members will give back in honor of Dr. King at Emergency Food Network in Lakewood, Wash., on Jan. 13, repacking food that is distributed to more than 70 meal sites and food pantries in the region. Additionally, the team will also gather at the United Way of Pierce County in Tacoma, Wash., on Jan. 23, to assemble hygiene kits for unhoused individuals. Our employees and health plans often participate in local outreach and community service events like this that spread our impact from coast to coast.
Although we鈥檙e just one company, we have nearly 68,000 employees who are making a difference. And our motivation and potential for greater impact keeps growing. Learn more about xxxx色情片鈥檚 commitment to听diversity, equity and inclusion听and our听community partnerships.
